Back from the dead

I'm back from the dead...sort of or at least long enough to play catch up on life.

Last week I spent the entire week in Vegas entertaining clients, listening to amazing speakers discuss trends in e-commerce (fun fact - did you know a new mall has not been built in the US since 2006? it's all moving online friends), and spending some quality time with an old friend.

On Sunday, Stephanie picked me up from the airport and we headed to Red Rocks to see the beautiful scenery of Nevada. I had only ever been on the Strip in Vegas so this was a nice change for me. After exploring beautiful Red Rocks, we headed to Bonnie Springs Ranch (not to be confused with Bunny Ranch which is where I kept telling Stefan we went). Bonnie Springs sells itself as a ghost town and let me tell you...we were oversold. It is a strange creepy little town with probably the saddest looking "zoo" that I have ever seen. Stephanie and I couldn't help but laugh the entire time we were there. Takeaway: see Red Rocks; skip Bonnie Springs!
I have to admit, I'm pretty impressed with my iphone pic

Check out that duck pond!
The conference was hosted at the beautiful Wynn hotel which has everything you can imagine in it - restaurants, shops, conference rooms, gardens and more. So much so that I spent 48 hours indoors without even realizing it. And as much as I enjoy a night of two of the Vegas lifetstyle, I have to say I was so ready to spend some time in the real world with Stephanie and James.

Stephanie and I went to see Blue Man Group which was really interesting. I wouldn't say that it was my favorite show (the MJ show that she's in is much better), but it was entertaining.

Most of all it was so nice to see Stephanie and James, and spend some time with this lovely couple. I hope to do it again next year!

I have to give major props to my mom who kept the girls while both Stefan and I were out of town. Both girls ended up getting sick which meant multiple trips to the doctor for my mom and having to take care of two sick babies. Luckily she is super Mom turned super Grammy and she handled it so well. We owe her big time!!

We also got to spend the weekend with Stefan's sister Haley which was great. She was a huge help with the girls and it was a fun low-key visit.
